Additional Cafe Planned for Proctor Endowment Home

Proctor Endowment Home announces plans to add another Café in their luxurious Centennial Building. Adding a third dining experience to the Proctor Home provides residents with additional meal options.

With an extensive campus, The Centennial at Proctor Home is the furthest from the main dining area. The new Café will provide many of our residents with a closer option for meals. The Café will feature a combination of light, healthy options as well as some main course menu items. Donna Malone, Proctor’s President and CEO said, “This is just another example of Proctor Home continuously looking for ways to enhance our resident’s lives. Not only will this provide an addition dining option, but it also offers another area for social gathering.” Planning is underway, with the expectation of construction beginning in May 2013.

Our Renovation Project

When you visit Proctor Home for the first time, you may notice some construction. Our renovation project is in full swing right now.

Jim and Evy’s Café

This new dining option will offer cook-to-order menu items. What’s great is the extended hours. Jim and Evy’s Café will be open Monday through Friday11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Soon, our residents will have access to delicious favorites like tomato soup, grilled cheese and other options.

Lobby Renovations

We’re extending the size of the lobby by about 10 feet for more open space. It’s a resident-favorite gathering spot, so we’re also refacing our fireplace with stone, making it two-sided and building a separate TV room.

Midway

This space will be transformed into a streetscape design to create the feel of walking down the the street of a small town.

Other Updates

  • Lots of fresh paint, carpet, wallpaper and light fixtures throughout our Blue Sky dining room and common areas.
  • New dining room chairs and table cloths.
  • New floor plan options for The Heights building.

It Feels Like Home

Like many projects at Proctor Place, we solicit the preferences and opinions of our residents before we make renovation decisions and other changes. After all, this is home.

Proctor Endowment Home Adds Display Cooking

Proctor’s Director of Dining Services, Ron Gibson, adds display cooking in the main dining room. There’s nothing like a display-cooking action station to create excitement and build participation—with all the smells, sights and sizzle of colorful fresh ingredients right out where residents can see them. Residents can specify their desired combinations for cooking and assembly, and our staff will prepare it right in front of you. A quick flip in the pan is all it takes to create a virtually unlimited variety of healthy, satisfying menu options. Make it a tasty Omelet, Pasta bowl or a stir-fry of vegetables with the freshness of produce which is important to today’s health-conscious residents. Ron states, “Display cooking gives the residents a fresh option and allows for customizing so they get it prepared to perfection. Our residents are really enjoying this addition”.
