The Peoria Heights Community Band has been performing at Proctor Place for many years. We always look forward to the wonderful music made by this talented group of local musicians.
In 1986, Jim Park, a local musician, decided to start a church band at Peoria Heights Congregational Church. It started with 13 members. The band first played at the church for an ice cream social and later played for several events in the Heights. Now, the band performs throughout the year at retirement and nursing homes as well as the summer Tower Park concerts in Peoria Heights. The band continues to grow with about 35 to 40 members and always welcomes new members of all ages, even if they haven’t played for years.
