Eight Reasons to Stay Active

At Proctor Place we believe in helping our residents continue to live independently as long as possible by encouraging a healthly lifestyle full of enjoyable activities. This is not just something we feel is important. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention lists eight good reasons why staying active is important.

Staying active will help:

1. Control weight
2. Reduce risk of cardiovascular disease
3. Reduce risk of type 2 diabetes and metabolic syndrome
4. Reduce risk of some cancers
5. Strengthen bones and muscles
6. Improve mental health and mood
7. Improve the ability to do daily activities and prevent falls, if you're an older adult
8. Increase your chances of living longer

You do not have to wait until you are a Proctor Place resident to participate in one of our upcoming activities or events. If you are considering a senior living community contact us today for more information on our upcoming events.

If you see an event that looks interesting, please also stop in and join us to discover just how enjoyable it can be to live a healthy lifestyle! Some of our regular activities include:

• Bingo and card games
• Gardening
• Music programs
